Torre and I were having a dance party this afternoon, and one of the CDs I played is by an indie band called Under Everyone. Matt and I met this guy on our way out from a Jason Mraz concert, selling CDs for whatever people would pay. His band had come up to Toronto in a van and the CD money might go to cover gas money and it was very living-the-dream in a way that gives parents cold sweats. So we gave him $10 and listened to the CD in the car on the way home, and it was really fun! The CD is called Tropical Timez – it is kind of Jack Johnson meets Jason Mraz in style.
Anyway, now that I have facebook, I decided to look this band up and found the Under Everyone page promoting a free album by Stevie Frank. I think the bands are related, but I don’t have a clue how and wikipedia is not offering any info.
So I downloaded it. And I thought I’d share the love. This album is not as light and fun as Tropical Timez (it’s called Dark Days, so that might have something to do with it), but it has great guitar, sincere lyrics, and these guys are trying to spread their music! So download an album for free with no guilt, and if you like it spread the word, or just share it with the person in your life who loves indie music 🙂
Here’s the link, enjoy!
